In early June I had the pleasure to take in a show at Amy Stewart and Shira Gold’s studio on Granville Island. Here they hosted guest artist Crissy Arseneau. All three of these ladies when I attended Thrive, a women’s art group where we met once a month for a year. That was back in 2018 and 19. It’s been wonderful to see their practises flourish and I can’t sing the praises high enough which is why I wanted to share their work with you.
Amy is an abstract painter who uses big swooshing brushes and always has a metallic line some where in her paintings.
Shira is a photographer who every time turn around has won another award!
Crissy is also an abstract artist but her medium is water colour on paper and which are cut, rearranged and mounted. Which I believe would lend themselves so easily to quilts don’t you think!
